At United Way of West Central Mississippi, our mission is to serve and strengthen our community — especially in times of uncertainty. During the government shutdown, we recognize that many families in our region may experience financial strain, food insecurity, or difficulty accessing essential services.
Our first step is to refer individuals to resources and support to those directly affected. Through referrals to local partners, food pantries, and community organizations, we are committed to ensuring that no family faces these challenges alone.
But helping our community starts with all of us. If you see a neighbor struggling, and you’re able to lend a hand, please do so, whether that means offering a meal, donating food items, or contributing financially to organizations working on the front lines.
When we come together to lift one another up, our entire community thrives. United, we can make sure every family feels supported, cared for, and hopeful during this difficult time.
