1. Why is United Way of West Central Mississippi having a state of the family conversation?
United Way of West Central Mississippi (UWWCM) is committed to building a thriving community by mobilizing resources to deliver measurable impact across the region. Our strategy recognizes the importance of creating an aligned Community Agenda which will focus our community work on having a purposeful impact with true investments. To accomplish this, we will work holistically and collaboratively with others in our service area to further strengthen families who call West Central Mississippi home. To start the process, we need to hear from you to gain a better understanding of the state of families in our service area.
2. Who is leading our conversation?
This meeting will be facilitated by Bill Kitson with Kitson Strategy LLC. Bill brings a wealth of knowledge to the conversation and has helped facilitate meetings of this manner in other organizations. He has over 35 years of experience with United Way on both the local and national level.
3. What can I expect at this conversational meeting?
Through facilitated interactive conversations with representatives from government, business leaders, non-profit agencies, youth, parents, and other community leaders you will help United Way of West Central Mississippi better understand the needs of families right here in West Central Mississippi. Through conversations, we are hoping to identify ways to engage and empower families. Conversation will revolve around identifying gaps, current services being provided, and families who are furthest from opportunity. Your valuable insight and expertise will help create a vision to see ALL thrive in our community.
4. What can I expect to gain from this conversation?
You will gain knowledge that will help you and your organization better understand the needs of the families in our service area. We hope this conversation will inspire you to engage in a cross-sector approach in which entities come together with a shared vision to help families and strengthen their overall goals.
You will also receive a follow-up report of what was discussed in the meeting.
