United Way of West Central Mississippi is a 501(c)3 nonprofit working to advance the common good by focusing on education, financial stability, health, and support services. By bringing together people and resources to address these issues, we are making sustainable changes in our service area for everyone.

We are no longer satisfied with the old definitions of success. Moving forward, we will measure ourselves not just by the amount of money raised for the community, but also by the impact we and our community partners have on changing community outcomes.

We hope you will continue to follow our progress on our new journey!

Our Mission

To build a stronger, healthier community by bringing together the human, financial, and strategic resources necessary to deliver measurable improvements and solutions to the critical health and human services facing the communities we serve.

Vision Statement

To be the connecting link by (or through) which volunteers, resources, and agencies are united to promote and enhance the quality of life in our communities for those who need help.

Value Statement

To be accountable, honorable, and transparent while demonstrating integrity to our donors and those we serve.

United Way of West Central Mississippi engages all segments of our community to drive sustainable change in education, income, and health while continuing to address urgent and basic human care.

Diversity Statement

United Way of West Central Mississippi fosters and promotes an inclusive environment that leverages the unique contributions of diverse individuals and organizations so that we can collectively and effectively create opportunities for a better life for all.

We focus on promoting an inclusive environment in every aspect of our business, where everyone respects and values the contributions of all people. The different backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives of our community strengthen the quality of our work and the success of our organizations.

Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of what it means to LIVE UNITED.

Anti-Racism And Ethnic Discrimination Statement

We recognize structural racism/ethnic discrimination and other forms of oppression have contributed to persistent disparities which United Way seeks to dismantle.

We understand that these disparities have existed in the past and persist into the present.

We acknowledge that these inequities are the result of policies and practices that work to marginalize entire populations of people.

We unequivocally denounce racism/ethnic discrimination because it undermines the well-being and vitality of our communities.

Our United Way network strives to engage community members, especially those whose voices have traditionally been marginalized.

We work with residents and public and private partners to co-create solutions that ensure everyone has the resources, supports, opportunities and networks they need to thrive.

We commit to leveraging all of our assets (convening, strategic investments, awareness building, advocacy) to create more equitable communities.
