
As a lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Fermika has taken a vested interest in her community and has devoted much of her time to service. She was educated in the Vicksburg-Warren School District public school system and is a graduate of the Vicksburg High School class of 1996. From there, Fermika went on to obtain degrees from Hinds Community College and Alcorn State University.
Fermika currently serves as the Administrator of Elite Performance and Rehab, a locally owned outpatient rehabilitation clinic. She began her career in the medical field back in 2002 at Good Samaritan Physical Therapy; afterwards, she was in Clinic Management at River Region Medical Center, and served as Interim Human Resources Director for the City of Vicksburg.
Fermika’s volunteer efforts display the passion she has for her city. She currently serves as a member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board as Secretary, Past Board Chair of the United Way West Central Mississippi Board of Directors, Past member of the Chamber of Commerce Ambassador team, member of the Good Shepherd Board of Directors, and Commissioner with the Vicksburg Housing Authority Board. In recent years, she’s served on the Board of Directors of the Warren County Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
She’s a member of Greater Grove Street MB Church, and her hobbies include reading, traveling, dancing, and trying different cuisines. Fermika has been married to her husband, Christopher, for 22 years, raises her niece, who is now 16, and enjoys her 4-year-old Yorkie, Poppi.
